Monticello Celebration

Monticello Celebration

Mark your calendar for September 18, 2010! That's Main Street’s 11th Annual Monticello Celebration.  There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer to help make this year's Celebration an even bigger success than last years!  If you would like to volunteer to help on Friday or Saturday, click here to be taken to the Volunteer Form.  Thank you for your continued support for our wonderful Celebration!

We'll be celebrating education in Piatt County and in Monticello this year. Our top rated school system is the envy of most of the state of Illinois.

A great variety of Art and Craft vendors will be open from 10 am to 4 pm on the downtown square.  For Vendor Registration, click here.

The very popular Pet Parade and Contest starts at 10 am.  This year’s Kid’s Activity Area is bigger and better and will include a Bounce House, Giant Slide, Obstacle Course and Giant Choo-choo.   There will also be lots of other games and make-it take-it activities.   We are happy to announce the addition of a stilt walker and balloon man that will be for the enjoyment of all ages.

The ever popular “Taste of Monticello” will again showcase our fine restaurants grilling out in front of their businesses.   For the fourth year, there will be a Scenes of Monticello Photo Contest.  All you shutterbugs should start taking those ONLY seen in Monticello pictures.  Come and shop on Celebration Day.

For the sixth year there will be Monticello’s own “Montipalooza” event.    Local Garage Bands will be playing at the corner of Charter and Livingston Streets.   If your band would like to participate you can call the Main Street office.

Music on the square begins at 10:00 am, and from 2:00 pm to 11 pm there will be continuous live music on two stages.   The evening will culminate with entertainment from 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm with the stage band, The Fuedin' Hillbillys!.

If you need a photo contest entry form, if you would like to become a vendor, or if you would like to volunteer and join in the fun, call the Main Street office.
